Imperial Tech Foresight offers challenging, provocative and personal visions of the future from our world-leading academic talent, looking ahead to what the next decades could offer as a consequence of breakthrough discoveries we see across our labs today.Our mission is to broaden and deepen relations between Imperial College London and its corporate partners in ways that stimulate discussion, collaboration and the imagination. We do this by creating original and inspiring events, videos and briefings. Our team offers in-house expertise for making long-range forecasts, trend research, media production and access to a network of external practitioners.

Our team

  • Nik Pishavadia, Director Corporate Engagement

    Nik Pishavadia, Director Corporate Engagement


    Nik joined Imperial in 2011 from Toyota Motor Europe with 12 years' experience in technical, product planning and commercial functions in the automotive sector. He has an MBA from Imperial College Business School.

    As Director for Corporate Engagement, Nik oversees both Imperial Tech Foresight and the Imperial Business Partners programme.


  • Dr. Graciela Sáinz, Research Principal

    Dr. Graciela Sáinz, Research Principal

    Graciela joined Imperial College in November 2016, after 10 years’ experience in research and industry. With a background in genetics, she completed a PhD in business and innovation management, using systems thinking to explore the future of personalised medicine. Graciela has also used foresight methods for policy-making in a government setting and has been involved in foresight projects at a European level. Graciela´s interests lie in the use of foresight methods for strategic thinking and decision-making, to help tackling uncertainty in research-intensive organisations.

  • Maria Jeansson, Foresight Strategy Manager

    Maria Jeansson, Foresight Strategy Manager

    Maria joined in Enterprise in October 2017 as a Foresight Strategy Manager. She is a practitioner who has worked with applied foresight over the past eight years. Her experience spans a variety of areas and applications from developing future 2050 visions for WWF to advancing alternative corporate growth areas in Asia for a global coffee company. She is interested in leveraging unique Imperial discoveries to help define new propositions and alternative futures for good.
  • Jo Johnson, Operations Manager

    Jo Johnson, Operations Manager

    Jo joined Enterprise in December 2017 as Events and Projects Manager, having spent seven years in the Higher Education sector. Her experience covers strategic marketing, events, project management, and engagement, with a particular focus on science and technology. She manages operations and marketing for Tech Foresight, working to develop Imperial’s innovative foresight activity and reach.

    Richard Watson, Futurist in Residence


    Richard is an English author, lecturer and futurist, best known for his 2007 book Future Files: a Brief History of The Next 50 Years[ and for his info-graphics, especially his Trends & Technology Timeline 2010-2050 and the Timeline of Emerging Science and Technology 2015-2030, the latter created with the Tech Foresight Practice at Imperial.
